A quickly arranged meeting between Russian and US Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump is possible, but there is no immediate need for it, Dmitry Peskov, the Russian leader's press secretary, told TASS.
“Hypothetically it is possible, but at the moment there is no need for it“, the Kremlin spokesman said.
Earlier, Putin's "voice" also commented on the tension between Venezuela and the US over the US shelling of vessels with suspected drugs on board.
"Naturally, we want everything to be in the spirit of peace and for no new conflicts to arise in the region. "The world is already full of conflict situations. We don't need new conflicts," Peskov said in response to a report in the American newspaper "Washington Post" that, under threat from the United States, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro had asked his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin for missiles, radars and aircraft.
