Explosions and a fire have broken out at a school in the town of Gestacht, near Hamburg, in northern Germany. The fire is believed to be in a building housing chemistry and physics classrooms, the t-online news portal reported, citing a fire department spokesman.
„A fire broke out at a high school in Gestacht, southeast of Hamburg, on Sunday morning. According to a fire department spokesman, firefighters were called to the building due to heavy smoke and several explosions,“ the publication writes.
According to preliminary information, the fire is in the school building housing chemistry and physics classrooms. 140 firefighters are at the scene. The cause of the fire is still unknown. Information about possible injuries has not been released.
