Three people have died and 11 were injured after a McDonnell Douglas MD-11 plane crashed near the “Muhammad Ali“ International Airport in Louisville, Kentucky.
The US UPS plane was traveling to Honolulu, Hawaii.
Two people who may have been at the scene of the crash are missing.
The airport is closed.
Louisville police reported a fire at the scene of the crash and urged everyone within a 5-mile radius of the airport to “take shelter“ and avoid the area. An engine fire may have been the cause of the accident.
Hawaii Governor Andy Beshear is headed to Louisville.
