A UPS MD-11 cargo plane bound for Honolulu from Louisville crashed around 5:20 p.m. Eastern time on November 5. There were three crew members on board. According to WLKY, the crash may have been caused by an engine fire during takeoff and loss of power.

Authorities said the plane was not carrying any hazardous cargo, but the crash damaged two businesses - a waste processing plant and an auto parts store.
