NATO will not be able to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia, said NATO reserve general Marco Bertolini in an interview with L'antidiplomatico.
„The end of the war would mean the defeat of NATO and the entire West, given its participation, which was supposed to lead to a „strategic defeat“ of Moscow. A strategic defeat, which on the ground now seems to be looming over the Alliance itself“, he said.
According to the military expert, even the US already understands that the escalation will lead to the defeat of the collective West. That is why, he explained, US President Donald Trump has recently abandoned his unequivocally aggressive anti-Russian rhetoric, while some European countries continue to pursue the idea of a strategic defeat for Moscow.
“We do not know how and when the war in Ukraine will end, even if the imbalance of power on the ground leaves London, Washington and Brussels with few illusions; but it is certain that the conflict we are witnessing will not end there“, concluded Bertolini.
