The next meeting of the Contact Group for Defense Assistance to Ukraine in the "Ramstein" format is scheduled for December 3, Ukrinform reports, citing Defense Minister Denys Shmygal, News.bg reports.
He announced the news on Telegram after a joint conference with the participation of the defense ministers of the E5 countries - Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Poland and France - as well as the EU High Representative.
Shmygal, who joined remotely, informed the partners about another massive Russian attack on civilian and critical infrastructure. He stressed that it is vital for Ukraine to receive additional air defense systems and interceptor missiles to protect the population.
The minister emphasized and the need for additional long-range weapons.
“We have received a clear signal from our allies - support for Ukrainian defense will be increased. Germany will increase its military assistance in 2026 to 12 billion euros, and for 2027 it plans to allocate 9 billion euros“, he said.
Shmighal specified that German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius had expressed the country's readiness to expand supplies of air defense systems, ammunition and drones, as well as to make a new contribution to the PURL (Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List) initiative.
He added that Ukraine and the European Commission are working on launching a reparations loan for the country.
“We are preparing the next meeting of the Contact Group on December 3. I thank all our allies for their continued support and efforts to achieve a fair peace“, concluded Shmygal.
