Loud explosions echoed in the Syrian capital Damascus, the state-run Syrian news agency SANA reported late last night, quoted by DPA.
A loud rumble was heard in a western district of the city, SANA reported. Eyewitnesses told DPA that they heard three explosions. Part of a building collapsed. Security forces have cordoned off the area.
Citing a military spokesman, SANA reported that it was an attack. The spokesman said it was carried out with missiles fired from a mobile launcher.
It is not yet clear who is behind the shelling. Authorities are working to clarify the circumstances, SANA reported.
