Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the Kremlin press service reported.

“A thorough exchange of views was held on the situation in the Middle East, including developments in the Gaza Strip in the context of the implementation of the ceasefire agreement and the prisoner exchange“, the Kremlin press service reported.

They also discussed the situation around the Iranian nuclear program and issues of promoting further stabilization in Syria.

Earlier on Saturday, Putin spoke by phone with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko. They commented on energy and exchanged views on bilateral cooperation and current international issues. The leaders discussed new joint projects, including the construction of a third power unit at the Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant.

The presidents also touched upon issues related to defense and security, paying special attention to the situation developing along the border of the Union State.

Putin and Lukashenko agreed to discuss these issues in more detail at the upcoming CSTO summit in Bishkek and at the traditional meeting of CIS leaders in St. Petersburg at the end of the year.
