The new light single-engine fifth-generation fighter jet, the Su-75 Checkmate, will soon begin bench tests, announced Sergei Chemezov, CEO of the state corporation “Rostec“.
“Creating a new aircraft takes a lot of time – on average 10 to 15 years. It's been a while, planes are not born that quickly, they are not babies to be born in nine months. It is practically already in the flight stage“, Chemezov said, adding that the aircraft will also soon begin bench tests.
He added that “Rostec“ continues to work on the aircraft. “I believe it will be in demand. It is cheaper, has one engine and I think it will have enough armament to provide everything needed for both air and ground targets. In terms of efficiency, price and quality, I think it will be quite good“, concluded the CEO of “Rostec“.
