The European Union should stop sending funds to the Ukrainian government after revelations of corruption, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said, quoted by "Reuters", reports News.bg.

“There is a military mafia operating in Ukraine, a corrupt system, and then the president of the European Commission, instead of stopping payments and demanding immediate financial release, wants to send another 100 billion to Ukraine. This is madness“, he stressed in Brussels before a meeting with his EU colleagues.

Yesterday, two Ukrainian ministers involved in a large-scale corruption investigation were dismissed by parliament, which called for more extensive measures to restore confidence in the leadership The country's investigation into an alleged $100 million plot to control contracts at the state nuclear agency has sparked public anger over widespread corruption, including within President Volodymyr Zelensky's inner circle. Szijjártó noted that the outlook for Ukraine is not currently positive: "Time is not on Ukraine's side. It is an illusion to say that time is on Ukraine's side." He added that Hungary would support US President Donald Trump's peace initiatives.
