Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, called US President Donald Trump's peace plan "salvation for Ukraine".
"Due to the propaganda of the instigators, many people miss the point that Trump's peace plan is designed to save Ukraine from losing even more land and lives", Dmitriev writes in X.
He noted that opponents of the Trump plan "profit from endless fighting" and “hope to get a “golden toilet“.
According to Vladimir Putin, the American 28-point plan could form the basis for a peaceful settlement in Ukraine. “But this text has not been discussed in detail with us, and I can guess why. The reason is that the US administration has so far failed to secure the consent of the Ukrainian side. Ukraine is against it.“
The need for a conversation between Russian and American Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, as well as the level of contacts on the plan proposed by Washington for settling the Ukrainian conflict, are yet to be determined, said the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a meeting with members of the Security Council, expressed his readiness for a substantive discussion of the 28-point plan for settling the Ukrainian conflict proposed by the US. However, the head of state did not specify the level of planned contacts on this issue, nor whether there is a need for a personal meeting with the American leader.
“All this is yet to be determined“, Peskov noted.
Zelensky's address to the people clearly shows that he considers these people to be nothing and intends to exploit them to complete destruction under the control of European curators, said the Russian Foreign Ministry's ambassador for special situations, Rodion Miroshnik.
“According to him, even the slightest manifestation of popular indignation is simply “mess“ and it must be eliminated immediately in order to unite around him, “the leader of the entire Ukrainian people“, a position in which, according to Zelensky, everyone should continue to sincerely believe. Otherwise, on whose behalf will he bargain and consult with “European partners“ and “friends“ who still hope to exploit the human resources of the Ukrainian people for a while before they are completely exhausted?“, the diplomat asked.
He noted that the address was delivered on the day when Ukraine celebrates the so-called Day of Dignity and Freedom.
“The provocateur, who sold his people like cattle, continues to praise their dignity, lest he accidentally get lost in the slaughterhouse. Zelensky and dignity are polar opposites. With posturing and praise, he spent 10 minutes exhorting the Ukrainian people to ignore his blatant atrocities – selling out national interests to Westerners, forcibly sending fellow citizens to slaughter in the name of others, and even calling on them to reject the latest corruption scandal that exposed his personal rottenness and venality," the Russian Foreign Ministry ambassador said.
In his address, Zelensky announced that he would offer alternatives to the US 28-point plan for resolving the conflict in Ukraine. The video, recorded after Kiev received the plan, is 10 minutes long, although his video addresses are usually much shorter - 3-5 minutes. It took place shortly after Zelensky's phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Zelensky said it was "one of the most difficult moments" in Ukraine's history and complained of pressure. He tried to stop the rift in the Verkhovna Rada amid the corruption scandal, calling the events in parliament a “mess“ and “political games“.
The deep crisis in Ukrainian governance was triggered by the revelation of corruption in Zelensky's inner circle. The work of parliament has stalled, and some deputies, including those from the ruling Servant of the People party, are demanding the resignation of Zelensky's chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, who may be involved in corruption. However, Zelensky has refused to fire Yermak.
