A container ship caught fire at the Port of Los Angeles, California, Mayor Karen Bass announced.
“City crews are battling a fire on a container ship at the Port of Los Angeles“, she wrote on her Facebook page.
“Emergency services are on scene, more than 100 firefighters are battling the flames, and port police are helping to ensure the safety of the crew.“
According to the city fire department, an explosion was discovered on the ship's deck after the fire, which caused a power outage.
All crew members have been evacuated from the ship. They were not injured.
