Secretary of State Marco Rubio has renounced the controversial peace plan for Ukraine, believing that the 28-point proposal is incompatible with the policy of the Trump administration, the Financial Times reported, citing its sources.

Rubio also told senators that he was not aware of any threats to withhold American weapons or intelligence information from Ukraine if they refused to sign the agreement, the material states.

“This is not our recommendation. This is not our peace plan“, said Republican Senator Mike Rounds. Independent Senator Angus King of Maine expressed a similar view, calling the proposal a “Russian wish list.”

Republican Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to accept Washington’s peace plan to resolve the conflict between Moscow and Kiev.

“President Trump’s peace agreement is the only way to end the war between Russia and Ukraine. This is the way. Agree to the deal, Zelensky,” Luna wrote in the H.

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham previously expressed the opinion that the peace plan has problems that require improvement.
