The Chinese authorities firmly support the Palestinian people and will actively promote a just solution to their issue, said Chinese President Xi Jinping.
„As a permanent member of the UN Security Council, China firmly supports the just cause of the Palestinian people to restore their legitimate national rights. "China will continue to work with the international community and make unremitting efforts to achieve a speedy, comprehensive, just and lasting settlement of the Palestinian issue," the Chinese leader stressed in a message he sent to participants in a meeting at the United Nations on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, celebrated annually on November 29.

Xi Jinping stressed that the Palestinian issue "tests the effectiveness of the global governance system." He added that China calls on the international community to address the root causes of the Palestinian issue, "show responsibility" and take appropriate measures to correct historical injustice.
The Chinese president stressed the key importance of the Palestinian issue, which has a significant impact on regional stability and conflict resolution in the Middle East. The Chinese leader explained that under the current situation, the international community should further strengthen consensus, take more active measures to achieve a comprehensive ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and prevent the resumption of hostilities.
“The post-war governance and reconstruction of Gaza should be carried out in accordance with the principle of "Palestinians governing Palestine", respecting the will of the Palestinian people and taking into account the rational concerns of countries in the region,“ Xi Jinping added. “We must improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza as soon as possible and alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.“
In addition, the Chinese leader stressed the paramount importance of “providing common direction“ for efforts to implement the “two-state solution“ and achieving an early political settlement of the Palestinian issue.
