Vance: We're all disappointed that there's still no peace in Ukraine - 1

US Vice President Jay D. Vance expressed hope for “good news“ in the coming weeks on resolving the conflict in Ukraine.

“I think we've made a lot of progress in every way. But we're not there yet. I think there's hope for good news on that front in the next few weeks,” he said in an interview with NBC News.

The vice president said he and “the entire White House“ were disappointed that the Ukraine crisis had not yet been resolved. “We really believed – and the president has said it a million times – that this war will be the easiest to resolve“, Vance added.

On December 2, Russian President Vladimir Putin received US Special Presidential Envoy Stephen Witkoff and US President's son-in-law Jared Kushner at the Kremlin. The key topic was the settlement of the crisis in Ukraine. The conversation lasted approximately five hours. According to the Russian President's advisor Yuri Ushakov, the content of the proposals contained in four documents of the US peace plan was discussed.

On December 4, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova noted at a briefing that the meetings with Witkoff and Kushner were aimed at achieving results, not external effects.
