Conservative American host Tucker Carlson has announced that he is preparing to buy property in Qatar, although he denies receiving money from the wealthy Gulf emirate, as some of his critics claim, Agence France-Presse reported, BTA reported.
“I have been criticized for being used by Qatar. I have never received anything from your country and I have no intention of doing so. However, tomorrow I am going to buy property in Qatar“, said the former Fox News anchor in an interview with Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
“I am doing this because I love the city. "I think it's beautiful, but I also affirm that I am an American - a free man and I will be wherever I want," Carlson added.
Many people "are making great efforts to sabotage the friendship between Qatar and the United States and are trying to demonize anyone who comes to this country," the Qatari prime minister said.
Qatar is home to the largest US air base in the Middle East, which houses the US military command for the region.
