Ukraine's sovereignty must be respected and its security guaranteed in the long term in any peace agreement with Russia, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa said, quoted by Reuters.
The two European Union leaders sent the same message on social media after a meeting in Brussels with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
"Ukraine's sovereignty must be respected. "Ukraine's security must be guaranteed in the long term as the first line of defense of our Union," their publications read.
Russia has temporarily suspended the operation of three airports in the North Caucasus for security reasons, the Russian aviation agency "Rosaviatsia" reported today, as quoted by Reuters.
The temporary restrictions have been imposed on the airports in Vladikavkaz, Grozny and Magas, which are the capitals of the republics of North Ossetia, Chechnya and Ingushetia, respectively.
An air alert has been declared in the North Caucasus republics of Dagestan and Kabardino-Balkaria for drone attacks.
Local residents have been warned to take shelter in windowless rooms and wait for the air alert to be lifted. Local authorities are warning that internet outages are possible, TASS reports.
