Hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians remain without electricity, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on "Telegram", quoted by DPA, writes BTA.
"The situation remains complicated," he pointed out after the massive Russian strikes with drones and missiles against Ukraine's energy infrastructure. The affected regions are Mykolaiv, Odessa, Kherson, Chernihiv, Donetsk, Sumy and Dnepropetrovsk, Zelensky added.
He added that there were injuries in another attack that night, but did not specify how many. According to him, work is currently underway to restore the power supply.
He accused Moscow of trying to cause as much damage as possible before talks in Berlin with the United States and representatives of European powers.
"This week - in just one week - the Russians used over 1,500 attack drones, almost 900 guided bombs and 46 missiles of various types against Ukraine," Zelensky said. He also published a video recording of the damage.
According to Zelensky, he expects intensive diplomatic efforts in the coming days. "It is very important that they lead to results. I count on the support of our partners," the Ukrainian leader added. Ukraine needs more of the promised air defense systems, he said.
Ukraine has been fighting a full-scale Russian invasion since February 2022.
