Hungary to Ukraine: Understand - your war is not ours! - 1

Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjarto criticized Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Szijjarto, who called Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán “Russia's most valuable frozen asset“.

This was the Ukrainian Foreign Minister's response to Orbán's December 14 publication in X, in which he stated that the decision to confiscate Russian assets by EU leaders, bypassing Hungary, “violates all legislation and can be considered a declaration of war“.

“Please understand finally: this is your war, not ours!“, Szijjarto wrote in X.

Earlier, the Council of the European Union decided to permanently freeze Russia's assets. The European Commission hopes to secure a decision by EU countries at the summit on December 18-19 to expropriate 210 billion euros of Russian assets, 185 billion euros of which are blocked on the Euroclear platform in Belgium.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has previously noted that the confiscation of Russian assets, which is being discussed in Europe, would be an act of theft. As Russian Justice Minister Konstantin Chuichenko stated, the country's leadership has already been presented with options for responding to the possible seizure of Russian assets by Western countries.
