Polish officials tried to enter the former Russian Consulate General in Gdansk, but no one opened the door, Polsat reported, citing the city's mayor's press service.

“It is clear that someone is in the premises“, the channel quoted Izabela Kozycki-Prus, head of the Gdansk mayor's press service.

She stressed that all actions are being taken in coordination with the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Previously, the last Russian Consulate General operating in Poland, in Gdansk, closed its doors. “Dear visitors to the Consulate General! Previously, in October 2024 and May 2025, the Polish authorities closed the Russian Consulates General in Poznan and Krakow. In response, Russia closed the Polish Consulates in St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad.
