California files over 50 lawsuits against Trump in one year - 1

California governments have filed 52 lawsuits against the administration of US President Donald Trump in one year and have saved $168 billion through litigation, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

Federal judges have blocked several key White House decisions based on lawsuits filed by California Attorney General Rob Bonta. In particular, they were able to stop the deployment of National Guard troops to Los Angeles. The state also did not join the measures to combat illegal immigration and kept billions of dollars in federal funds for the construction of highways and airports, as well as for security.

As Bonta told the publication, the courts have ruled in favor of the state in approximately 80% of cases, and the Trump administration has either withdrawn its objections or reached a settlement. “We will not go to court for political reasons, ideological and policy differences. Eighty percent of victories are not related to politics. These are victories based on the law and the facts“, the attorney general said.
