French President Emmanuel Macron said that the upcoming transition in Venezuela must be peaceful and democratic and criticized the country's President Nicolas Maduro.
“The upcoming transition must be peaceful, democratic and based on respect for the will of the Venezuelan people“, the French leader wrote in X.
Macron also claimed that Maduro, allegedly “by seizing power and trampling on fundamental freedoms“, has caused “serious damage to the dignity of his own people“.
