Russia announced today that it has captured two more villages in eastern Ukraine, TASS reported, quoted by Focus. This news has not been independently verified. There has been no reaction from Ukraine so far.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported in its daily briefing the capture of Zelenoe in the northeastern Kharkiv region and Sukhotskoye in the neighboring Donetsk region, to the south.
Zelenoye is located near the border with Russia in the Belgorod region.
Sukhotskoye is in Pokrovsky district. It is located about 8 kilometers north of the city of Pokrovsk - the main objective of the Russian army, for which fierce battles are being fought.
In its regular morning briefing, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported, quoted by Ukrinform, about 338 battles yesterday.
The situation was most complicated in the Pokrovsk direction, where 80 clashes were registered.
Other hot spots were the cities of Liman and Konstantinovka in Donetsk region and Gulyaipole in neighboring Zaporizhzhia, to the south.
Russia regularly reports captured villages in eastern Ukrainian regions, where it is advancing slowly but methodically. On the other hand, it has not established control over any major Ukrainian city for a long time, and fierce battles are currently being fought for Pokrovsk, as well as for Kupyansk, Kharkiv region.
