Volodymyr Zelensky: Ukraine expects response from US to Russian strikes - 1

The United States has proposed to suspend strikes on energy projects during diplomacy and the cold winter weather, and Ukraine expects a response from the US to Russian strikes.

This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in his evening video message, published on his Telegram channel and quoted by UNIAN.

"We expect a reaction from the United States of America to the Russian strikes. This was America's proposal: to suspend strikes on energy projects during diplomacy and this cold winter weather. "This was a personal request from the president of the United States," Zelensky said.

He noted that Russia responded to this personal request from US President Donald Trump with a record-breaking missile strike.

"Less than four days have passed since the week they asked Russia. This speaks volumes about everything else that Russia is promising or may still be promising. If their word is not kept now, then what can we expect after that?", the Ukrainian president added.

Zelensky stressed that Russia lied about its intentions regarding Ukraine during the war.

"They lied before this war and Russia started a war, trying to deceive everyone about its intentions and about Ukraine, and now - even in such details, in such agreements with America - this is again a Russian deception."

According to the Ukrainian leader, Russia has decided to take advantage of the cold weather, after failing to defeat Ukraine so far.

"Russia's military efforts must be met with a peaceful response," Zelensky said.
