The first person in Crimea: We do not need the West to recognize our Russian status - 1

Crimea does not need Western countries to recognize its Russian status at any cost. This was stated by Sergei Aksyonov, the head of the republic, TASS reports.

"The only question is at what cost. If they recognize as a fact, as a given, that the choice of the citizens of Crimea, which was supported by the president and the citizens of the Russian Federation, is honest and legal, thank God, this would be a certain opening of opportunities for us. But if this is conditioned by ultimatums and the fulfillment of some senseless demands of the European Union - then damn it, we should not pay attention to them at all,“ said Aksyonov.

According to him, Crimea is going its own way and has proven that it can develop even in the current circumstances.

On March 18, 2014, Russian President Vladimir Putin approved the agreement between Russia and Crimea on the accession of the region to Russia.
