Britain called on Israel on Wednesday to reverse its decision to extend control over the West Bank, joining Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in criticizing move, Reuters reported.
“Britain strongly condemns yesterday's decision by the Israeli security cabinet to extend Israeli control over the West Bank,“ the British government said in a statement. Critics have said Israel's decision to adopt measures to facilitate settlement expansion and extend its control over the West Bank is a step towards annexing the occupied territories.
“Any unilateral attempt to change the geographical or demographic structure of Palestine is completely unacceptable and would be contrary to international law. We call on Israel to immediately reverse these decisions,“ the British government added.
