French President Emmanuel Macron said that Western countries will have to deal with an aggressive Russia even after the war in Ukraine ends, Reuters reported.
The French leader said this at this year's Munich Security Conference.
According to Macron, the solution to the conflict in Ukraine is not to fulfill Russian demands, but to increase pressure on Russia.
"We must show strength and resilience in relation to Ukraine. This is the time for courage. "This is the time for a strong Europe," the president said.
When a peace agreement is reached for Ukraine, Europe will have to define its rules for coexistence with Russia, Macron said, as quoted by Agence France-Presse.
