A pleasure boat with 26 passengers on board capsized in the southwestern province of Yunnan, killing at least four people, China Central Television reported.
The incident occurred on February 17, the first day of the Chinese New Year, near the tourist village of Lianxiwan in Chuxiong city.
The State Council Security Commission ordered a provincial-level investigation into the incident and those responsible to be held accountable in accordance with the law.
Law enforcement agencies are continuing to determine the specific reasons for the ship's capsize.
