The US Central Intelligence Agency has offered help to potential informants in Iran by providing instructions in Farsi for safely contacting the US intelligence agency as President Donald Trump considers possible military strikes against the Islamic Republic, the Associated Press reported.
The publication is part of a series of messages from the agency in Farsi, Korean, Russian and Mandarin that offer secure ways to contact the CIA. The Farsi message, posted last night on „Ex“, „Instagram“ and “YouTube“, but it comes at a particularly tense time in U.S.-Iran relations, as well as amid renewed protests in the Islamic Republic, the AP notes.
The United States has amassed its most significant military force in decades in the Middle East as tensions with Iran have escalated. Trump last month began threatening military action in response to the government's brutal crackdown on nationwide protests, and then shifted his focus to Iran's controversial nuclear program and began pressuring it to make a deal. The next round of nuclear talks is scheduled for later this week.
