Iran was ready to expand the terms of the nuclear deal - 1

Iranian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Ali Akbar Dzhokhar commented on the situation surrounding the Iranian nuclear program against the backdrop of the latest escalation, Kazinform reports. According to him, Iran's nuclear program has been implemented under the supervision of the IAEA from the very beginning.

„On the nuclear issue, Iran has previously agreed to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and, cooperating even beyond the Agency's requirements, has fulfilled its verification obligations. "Iran has allowed additional inspections to build trust in the United States, as well as Western and European countries," he said at a press conference at the embassy. The diplomat stressed that Tehran had expressed readiness to take additional confidence-building measures in subsequent negotiations. However, during Donald Trump's first presidential term, the US side withdrew from this joint action plan, and the European countries did not take any steps to return to the agreement. However, during the subsequent negotiations, the Iranian side expressed readiness to cooperate with the emerging international consortium for confidence-building, offering more clauses than in the first agreement, the ambassador noted.

It should be noted that the agreement on the Iranian nuclear program was concluded in 2015 between Iran and the United States, Russia, China, the United Kingdom, France and Germany.

It was previously reported that during the US-Iranian talks in Geneva, Washington demanded that Tehran close three key nuclear facilities - Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan - and hand over to the United States all stocks of enriched uranium, up to 400 kg, enriched to 60%, and abandon its missile program and support for puppets in the Middle East.
