General Majid Ebnelreza of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps was appointed interim defense minister of Iran by President Massoud Pezeshkian after his predecessor was killed in American and Israeli strikes, Agence France-Presse reported, quoted by BTA.
"By decision of President Massoud Pezeshkian, Revolutionary Guard General Majid Ebnelreza was appointed interim defense minister," a presidential spokesman announced in a statement published in "Aix".
The head of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, said today in "Ex" that "Iran, unlike the US, has prepared for a long war". He had previously rejected the possibility of negotiations with the US.
