The big wave in the conflict with Iran is yet to come, US President Donald Trump said in an interview with CNN. The American leader added that he does not know who will lead the Islamic Republic after the elimination of its supreme leader, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
According to him, Washington has not yet dealt its most serious blows, and larger-scale actions are expected soon.
"We haven't even started attacking them seriously yet. The big wave has not yet passed. It is coming soon," Trump said. He added that it is currently unclear who is running Iran after the assassination of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
"We don't know who the leadership is, we don't know who they're going to elect," the US president said.
Reuters reported yesterday that a number of senior US administration officials remain skeptical that the military operation against the Islamic Republic will lead to regime change in the short term.
