The US State Department said that over 9,000 Americans have left the Middle East in the past few days in connection with Washington's military operation against Iran. This includes 300 people who were in Israel.
The Washington administration previously announced its intention to organize evacuation flights for Americans in the Middle East.
There were no casualties at the US consulate in Dubai; a drone strike hit a parking lot. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced this while speaking to reporters on Capitol Hill.
“Unfortunately, a drone struck a parking lot adjacent to the consulate building, causing a fire. All personnel are on site“, Rubio said.
