Thick smoke covers Tehran skies after Israeli strikes on oil facilities - 1

The sky over parts of Tehran darkened after the nighttime Israeli strikes on oil depots in the Iranian capital. According to local media, thick smoke rises over the city and mixes with the cloud cover, BTA reports.

The crisis center of the Iranian Meteorological Service explained that the unusual darkening of the sky was not due to the weather alone, but to a combination of clouds and smoke after the bombings. The information was disseminated by the state news agency IRNA.

Tasnim Agency warned of potential health risks related to the presence of sulfur and nitrogen oxides in the air. According to experts, these substances can become especially dangerous if combined with precipitation, which is why residents are urged to stay indoors in case of rain.

Israel reported that several oil depots in Tehran were attacked during the night operation, which according to the Israeli side were used to supply military infrastructure.

Iranian state television IRIB also confirmed that an oil refinery was hit, and the information was confirmed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
