"Hezbollah" reported that it launched an attack on Israeli soldiers in the Misgav Am area, northern Israel, Agence France-Presse reported, BTA reported.
According to Israeli emergency services, one person was killed in the shelling.
In a statement, the Iran-backed group said it fired a salvo of rockets at soldiers in the area. The attack is part of a series of operations that "Hezbollah" claims to have carried out against Israeli forces in northern Israel and southern Lebanon.
This is the first civilian death along Israel's northern border since the start of hostilities between Israel and "Hezbollah".
Several Explosions were heard in Jerusalem after the Israeli army warned of rockets fired from Iran towards central Israel, Agence France-Presse reported, BTA reports.
"There are no reports of casualties at this time," the Magen David Adom emergency service, Israel's equivalent of the Red Cross, said. Teams were dispatched to hit areas in central Israel, with limited damage reported in the Tel Aviv area.
The attack comes a day after large-scale Iranian rocket attacks hit the cities of Dimona and Arad in southern Israel. There were reports of casualties and about 100 injuries. Iran said the actions were in response to the attack on the Natanz nuclear complex, and the Israeli army is investigating why some of the rockets were not intercepted.
