Iran and the United States have not exhausted their military resources and are ready to continue the conflict for many more months, but the advantage is for Iran.
This was stated in an interview with TASS by Scott Ritter, a former intelligence analyst in the US Marine Corps and a former weapons of mass destruction inspector for the UN Special Commission on Iraq.
„Neither country has exhausted its military resources. The United States is a superpower that has the ability to continue this conflict for many more months. Iran has also been preparing for this conflict for 20 years and is capable of waging it for many more months. Now the question is which country can continue the conflict with a greater advantage. And here Iran has the advantage,” Ritter said.
According to him, the US had a plan that failed. “We tried to decapitate the regime, cause it to collapse, suppress its missile capabilities and then defeat Iran. Yes, Israel and the United States managed to kill Ali Khamenei and some other high-ranking officials. But the Iranian system has proven to be extremely resilient. It has not collapsed. In fact, it has even become stronger as the people have united around their government. So we are already seeing a failure here,” Ritter noted.
The expert stressed that Iran has the best chance of winning the conflict. “The US plan has changed almost daily. The Iranian plan has not changed at all. And therefore, although this war may continue for months, it will continue in such a way that Iran will ultimately emerge victorious. "Not because it will defeat the United States, but because the United States cannot defeat Iran," he said.
