The involvement of the Houthis in the war on the side of Iran has raised the price of oil to over $ 115 per barrel - 1

The price of May futures for Brent crude oil exceeded $ 115 per barrel, according to data from the London ICE Exchange. The previous price of this type of fuel reached this level on March 19.

At its peak, the price of Brent reached $ 116.2 per barrel, but by 0:50 Bulgarian time it had recovered to $ 115.2.

The previous day, the price of Brent crude oil rose by 4.2%. Reuters attributes this to the announcement by the Yemeni Houthis of their first attack on Israel since the start of the war in the Middle East and their threat to enter the war with the United States on the side of Iran. On the night of March 30, the Israel Defense Forces reported the interception of two drones launched from Yemen.

Following the start of the US-Israeli military operation in Iran and Tehran's retaliatory attacks on Washington's allies in the Persian Gulf, as well as the effective closure of the Strait of Hormuz by Iran, the price of Brent crude oil approached $120 per barrel for the first time since 2022.

After US President Donald Trump announced a halt to strikes on energy facilities until April 6, the price of Brent crude oil fell below $100 per barrel, but began to rise again after the Houthi attacks.
