US President Donald Trump mocked British Prime Minister Keir Starmer for his statements regarding Britain's possible involvement in the conflict with Iran, DPA reported, quoted by BTA.
During a private Easter lunch, Trump imitated Starmer, which caused reactions from those present, according to a video of the event.
The American president said that Britain "should be the best" ally of the United States, but in his opinion this is not the case. He also criticized Britain's aircraft carriers, which he described as "not the best."
The comments are part of Trump's broader criticism of London's refusal to join the military action against Iran.
Earlier this week, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegsett also criticized Britain, noting that the Royal Navy is expected to be prepared for such situations.
According to DPA, the conflict in Iran has led to increased tension between allies on both sides of the Atlantic. In this context, Trump has repeatedly expressed dissatisfaction with the reluctance of partners to join the military action and has even stated that he is considering withdrawing the United States from NATO.
