One person was killed and four were injured in an air strike on the Russian city of Taganrog, Rostov Region Governor Yuri Slyusar said.
Among the injured are three residents of the city and one foreign citizen.
“They are seriously injured; medical experts estimate that three are in critical condition“, the governor wrote. He expressed condolences to the family and friends of the deceased and promised to provide assistance to his family and the injured.
The missile strike on the city damaged commercial infrastructure, and a fire broke out in the warehouses of a logistics company, which was localized. Residents were evacuated. In addition, drones were shot down in the waters of the Taganrog Bay of the Sea of Azov, as well as in the Chertkovsky and Sholokhovsky districts.
A bulk carrier sailing under a foreign flag "was damaged in the waters by debris from a drone," causing a fire that has been localized, the governor said.
The vessel was located several kilometers from the coastline.
Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 85 Ukrainian drones overnight over Russian regions and the Black Sea, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
The regions in question are in the Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kursk, Orel, Rostov, Samara, Saratov and Tula regions, Crimea and the Black Sea, the ministry said.
