No need for ground operation - Trump extends deadline for Iran deal to April 8, 2:00 AM Bulgarian time - 1

US President Donald Trump has extended the deadline for a possible deal with Iran by 24 hours, Axios correspondent Barak Ravid reported in X.

“Trump has extended Iran's deadline by an additional 24 hours“, Ravid wrote. This was his interpretation of Trump's post on Truth Social, which he had previously written without explanation: “Tuesday, 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time (2:00 a.m. Bulgarian time, April 8).“

In an interview with Axios on Sunday, the American leader said there was a high probability of a deal with Iran by April 7.

Earlier on Truth Social, he threatened to strike energy and civilian infrastructure if Iran did not open the Strait of Hormuz by April 6. On March 26, the US prime minister announced a 10-day pause in strikes on Iranian energy infrastructure until 8:00 p.m. on April 6 (2:00 a.m. Bulgarian time, April 7).

The US proposal to NATO allies to participate in a military operation against Iran was nothing more than a test, US President Donald Trump said in an interview with ABC.

“I did it as a test. I don't need it, do I? They are a paper tiger, they have no ships, they have nothing, and Putin is not afraid of them at all,” the American leader was quoted as saying by the channel’s journalist Rachel Scott in X.

Trump said he saw no need for the US military to conduct a ground operation in Iran.

„I don’t think it’s necessary, but I’m not ruling anything out.“

According to him, the conflict with Iran "has to be over in days".

„He told me the conflict has to be over in days, not weeks", Scott quoted an excerpt from his conversation with the American leader.

Trump refused to answer a question about the possibility of delaying the deal with Iran. „I don’t want to talk about that; they have plenty of time to make a deal. "If they don't want to make a deal, their whole country will disappear," Scott quoted Trump as saying, adding that the US has "very few" restrictions on its actions against Iran.
