Zelensky accuses Russia of helping Iran and criticizes US approach - 1

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the United States is ignoring convincing evidence that Russia is helping Iran in attacks on American bases in the Middle East, Ukrinform reports, BTA reports.

In a statement on a podcast by British journalist Alistair Campbell, Zelensky said that he had tried to draw the White House's attention to the deepening cooperation between Moscow and Tehran. According to him, Russian military satellites have photographed key infrastructure in the Persian Gulf states and Israel, including American military sites, and this information was subsequently passed on to Iran.

Zelensky said that he had not seen a reaction from the United States to Russia demanding that these actions be stopped, adding that, in his opinion, Washington was showing too much trust in Russian President Vladimir Putin.

He also commented that US President Donald Trump's team had failed to fully understand the Russian positions, pointing out that two of the key American negotiators had spent too much time talking to the Russian leader and his representatives.

The Ukrainian president stressed that he believed he understood Putin's intentions better than the US administration and warned that if Donbass were taken over, Russia could direct its actions to other Ukrainian regions.

Zelensky added that there was a risk of the US underestimating Russian intentions and expressed the opinion that that trust in Moscow is unjustified.

He previously stated that Russia had provided Iran with satellite intelligence on dozens of Israeli energy infrastructure sites.
