China calls on the parties to the Middle East conflict to exercise restraint and find a political solution to the conflict. The statement was made by the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Mao Ning, commenting on the Israeli strikes on Lebanon.
“China calls on the relevant parties to resolve existing differences through political and diplomatic means, maintain restraint and help cool the situation“, she said.
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that he had ordered the start of direct negotiations with Lebanon at the “as soon as possible“. As noted by the Axios portal, the negotiations are scheduled to be held in Washington next week. Both countries will be represented at the level of ambassadors to the United States.
