American diplomats should not use the talks in Pakistan as a show and a deception if they want to reach a deal with Iran, Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf told reporters at the Islamabad airport.
“If they want to use the talks as a useless show and a deception, we will be ready to exercise our rights, believing in God and relying on the strength of our people“, Ghalibaf was quoted as saying by the Mehr news agency.
He said Tehran's talks with Washington have always been fraught with setbacks and violations of agreements, despite “good intentions” of Iranian representatives.
The speaker of parliament added that the Iranian delegation “has good will but no trust” in the United States.
On the evening of April 10, the Iranian delegation arrived in Islamabad for talks with the United States to resolve the conflict and conclude a long-term agreement.
According to Iranian state television, Ghalibaf led a delegation that also included Abdolnaser Hemati, governor of the Central Bank of the Islamic Republic, Ali Akbar Ahmadian, secretary of the Defense Council, and Abbas Araghchi, minister of foreign affairs.
