Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Monday that Ankara was working to extend a truce between the United States and Iran, as well as to reduce tensions and continue talks, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
In a speech to deputies in the Turkish parliament, he stressed that despite the existing difficulties, Turkey retains hope for positive developments.
Erdogan noted that Israeli attacks in Lebanon were damaging the prospects for peace, adding that the temporary ceasefire had created an opportunity that should not be missed.
According to him, the complex issues in the negotiations could be resolved if the parties focused on the benefits of peace.
