The United States intends to use excavators to extract Iranian highly enriched uranium stored in the nuclear facilities attacked in the summer of 2025, and then transport it.
„How will we extract the nuclear dust? We will extract it together with Iran, using a lot of excavators. And we will transport it to the United States,” he said in Phoenix, Arizona, to supporters of the organization Turning Point USA.
The US head of state calls the highly enriched uranium stored at the nuclear facilities in Isfahan, Natanz and Fordow, which the US carried out airstrikes on in June 2025, “nuclear dust.”
When asked on CBS whether the deployment of US troops to Iran would be necessary to remove the uranium, the president said: “No, there are no troops.” “We will come and take it with them. We will transport it together, because by then agreements will be reached, and when agreements are reached, there is no need to fight,” he added.
“Our people will work with the Iranians to capture it.” And then we'll bring it to the United States," the US leader added, hinting at a possible meeting this weekend.
He added that Tehran "will not get any money in return."
The president denied an Axios report that the US and Iran were discussing the possibility of releasing $20 billion in frozen Iranian assets in exchange for Tehran handing over its enriched uranium to Washington. He called the report "fake news."
