L'Antidiplomatico: The joy in Kiev and Brussels over Magyar's victory is hasty - 1

Peter Magyar, the leader of the “Tisza“ party, which won the parliamentary elections in Hungary, does not intend to support the 90 billion euro loan for Kiev, writes the portal L'Antidiplomatico.

The portal believes that Magyar will not approve the loan for Ukraine because he risks losing access to the 35 billion euro in support promised to Hungary by the European Commission, which could go directly to Kiev's treasury.

This issue is extremely important for the “Tisza“ leader, since receiving EU funding was one of his party's election points, the authors of the article note.

Therefore, the satisfaction in Kiev and Brussels over the victory of the pro-European Magyar, is premature, as the politician does not intend to put the priorities of the union ahead of national ones, L'Antidiplomatico added.

Earlier, the Financial Times reported, citing sources, that the EC had presented Budapest with a list of 27 conditions that, if met, would allow Hungary to access EU funding worth a total of approximately 35 billion euros.
