US bases in the Middle East have suffered more damage than the Pentagon admits - 1

Iran has caused more damage to US military facilities in the Middle East than it has officially acknowledged. Their restoration will require billions of dollars, NBC News reported, citing sources.

After the start of the US-Israeli military operation on February 28, Tehran quickly responded by striking dozens of US targets in the region, including aircraft hangars, warehouses, runways, satellite communications infrastructure, radar systems and aircraft. As a result, US military bases were “significantly damaged“, with the damage “far more significant than publicly acknowledged“.

According to NBC News, the US administration has asked private satellite companies to block access to images of its bases, making it difficult to assess the extent of the damage. The Pentagon's reluctance to provide information about the actual condition of military facilities in the Middle East has angered several Republican lawmakers, the channel reported. “We have been asking questions about this for weeks and we have not received any detailed information, even though the Pentagon is asking for a record budget,” said an aide to a member of Congress.
