Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali confirmed that the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic Abbas Araghchi is due to arrive in Moscow later today.
According to Jalali, in the Russian capital, Araghchi will discuss the situation surrounding the peace talks and the ceasefire in the Middle East region.
Yesterday, the foreign minister was back in Pakistan after the US president canceled the visit of Washington's envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
Before that, the Iranian top diplomat briefly visited the other mediator in the conflict with the United States - Oman, where he spoke with the country's prime minister and foreign minister. In Islamabad, the talks were with the Chief of General Staff Asim Munir, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and the Iranian ambassador.
In an interview with "Fox News", US President Donald Trump again commented on the failure of the negotiations with Iran, reiterating that he had decided to refuse to send a team to Pakistan, instead of his representatives flying there for 17 hours.
""If the Iranians want to talk, they can come to us or call us," Trump said.
However, officials who requested anonymity said that indirect talks between the countries were continuing despite everything.
