Riga bans entry to daughter of Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov - 1

Latvia has added three Russian citizens to the list of people banned from entering the country, including former Culture Minister Mikhail Shvydkoy. This is stated in a statement by the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, quoted by “Evropeyskaya Pravda“, reports Focus.

The decision was made by Foreign Minister Baiba Brazhe on the basis of Article 61, paragraph 2 of the Immigration Law.

In addition to Shvydkoy, the list also includes Anastasia Karneeva - daughter of the Deputy General Director of “Rostec“ Nikolai Volobuev, as well as Ekaterina Vinokurova - daughter of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

The Latvian Foreign Ministry specifies that the entry ban is indefinite.

The measure fits into a broader regional policy. In March, Lithuania added over a hundred Belarusian officials to its list of undesirable persons.

At the same time, Vilnius is proposing a new restriction - a five-year entry ban for artists who have performed in Russia or Belarus.
