The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have destroyed a Russian Su-24M combat aircraft and four units of airport equipment in a strike on the ''Saki'' airport. This was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Saturday, August 22, on Facebook, Focus reports.
''The results of previous strikes have been confirmed: a Su-24M aircraft and four units of airport equipment were destroyed at the ''Saki'' airport, the Ukrainian head of state said.
The head of state specified that in the Bryansk region, repeaters for controlling drones used by Russian forces to direct attacks against Ukrainian settlements were eliminated.
Zelensky also noted that over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian soldiers have also struck the ''Novokuybyshev'' oil refinery, as well as a logistics center in the Samara region. He added that successful actions were also carried out in the Black Sea waters.
''Ukrainian long-term sanctions continue to limit Russia's military-economic potential and make the war more tangible in the aggressor country,'', the president emphasized.
The Ukrainian leader also expressed gratitude to the fighters of the Defense Forces of Ukraine for their precise work and for systematically depriving Russia of its strategic rear.
